Legend has it that the first red tulips were tears shed by a Persian Prince who was completely devastated by an unrequited love. It was considered to be quite exotic back in the 1500s and was a wild flower that thrived during the time of the Persian Empire. Today, red tulips are abundant, sold in various flower shops for bouquets and flower arrangements, and growing in fields that create the most beautiful scene imaginable. They are typically at their most glorious during the month of March all through May. Their leaves are either bluish-grey or green and they sprout from the flower’s base, reaching the point of the tulip’s blooming. They come in two categories, namely the garden tulips and the species tulips. They also need a lot of room to grow, which is why they must be planted in such a manner that they are separated by a couple of inches from each other.
